The article\u202f&#8221;<\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1.125rem\" href=\"https:\/\/milwaukeenns.org\/2024\/11\/19\/lindsay-heights-residents-advocate-for-neighborhood-through-photo-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lindsay Heights residents advocate for neighborhood through photo research<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;color: initial\">&#8221; highlighted Dulmini&#8217;s project,\u202f<\/span><em style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;color: initial\">See What We See: Stories of Environmental Stewardship in Lindsay Heights<\/em><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;color: initial\">. It showcased how local residents participating in the photovoice project learned about the history of Lindsay Heights and how Dulmini&#8217;s research has helped them build a sense of place attachment and inform policymakers in the City of Milwaukee. Additionally, her photo exhibition with the residents at Milwaukee City Hall was featured in the <\/span><a style=\"font-size: 1.125rem\" href=\"https:\/\/panthers-my.sharepoint.com\/personal\/lgfrost_uwm_edu\/_layouts\/15\/onedrive.aspx?id=%2Fpersonal%2Flgfrost%5Fuwm%5Fedu%2FDocuments%2FWebsite%20Hosted%20Files%2F2025%20February%20Sustainability%20Snippet%2Epdf&amp;parent=%2Fpersonal%2Flgfrost%5Fuwm%5Fedu%2FDocuments%2FWebsite%20Hosted%20Files&amp;ga=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">51ÁÔÆæ Office of Sustainability&#8217;s February 2025 newsletter<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1.125rem;color: initial\">.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Great work, Dulmini!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-shamsun-proma-nahar-ph-d-student-nbsp\">Shamsun (Proma) Nahar (Ph.D. student)&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Proma won second place for the Best Graduate Student Paper at the Ph.D. level at the AAG West Lake Division Meeting, Kalamazoo, Michigan, in October 2024. Her paper title was \u201cExploring the Relationship Between Heat Exposure and Cardiovascular Disease Incidence in Wisconsin\u201d, and her research investigates the impact of heat exposure on cardiovascular disease incidence in Wisconsin, highlighting how environmental factors influence public health outcomes. The study emphasizes the importance of health geography and its importance in mitigating health risks in vulnerable populations.
