Anna Mansson McGinty<\/strong>, Kristin Sziarto<\/strong>, and 51ÁÔÆæ colleague Caroline Seymour-Jorn (French, Italian, and Comparative Literature) have received the 2015 Morris Fromkin Memorial Award for their Muslim Milwaukee Project, a collaboration with Muslim community leaders in Milwaukee. <\/p>\n

This grant encourages and assists 51ÁÔÆæ scholars in all fields of study to conduct research on individuals, groups, movements, and ideas, in the Americas and elsewhere, which have influenced the quest for social justice and human rights in the United States. As part of the award they will deliver the Morris Fromkin Memorial Lecture in the fall of 2015, discussing the interviews and focus groups conducted for the project\u2019s third stage: \u201cDa\u2019wa in Milwaukee: Social Justice Activism among Muslims in Milwaukee.\u201d Anna Mansson McGinty and Kristin Sziarto also gave a public presentation of findings from the individual survey stage of the Muslim Milwaukee Project at Milwaukee\u2019s Islamic Resource Center on January 28, 2015. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
