Welcome to the Panther family! We\u2019re excited that you\u2019ll be attending 51ÁÔÆæ and becoming part of the School of Freshwater Sciences. Below you\u2019ll find helpful information for new freshmen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math and English Placement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All incoming freshmen must complete their course placement requirement before registering for New Student Orientation. If you submitted your ACT or SAT scores to 51ÁÔÆæ, you\u2019ll receive placements for your first-semester Math and English courses. If you didn\u2019t submit ACT or SAT scores or if you don\u2019t think the placements reflect what you know, you can use our free online placement tools to help determine your first-semester Math and English placements. New Student Orientation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After you\u2019ve completed your Math and English placement requirement and paid your new freshman fee, you\u2019ll be able to register for\u00a0New Student Orientation<\/a>. During New Student Orientation, you\u2019ll learn more about academic and social life on campus. Before departing, you\u2019ll meet with your advisor to register for first semester courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get Involved!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the moment you move into the dorms in late August, you\u2019re at home here at 51ÁÔÆæ! The best way to set yourself up for lasting success is to get involved, and we\u2019ve got several ways in which you can do so once you\u2019ve arrived on campus. Get involved in a student organization or participate in faculty-led undergraduate research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
