Boren awardees receive funding to study the languages most critical to our nation&#8217;s security in regions of the world of critical interest to the USA. The CLS Program provides fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks for undergraduate and graduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\"><button class=\"uwm-p-accordion--toggle-button size-p-md\">Expand All<\/button>\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Basic Eligibility<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>US Citizen or national of the USA\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Permanent residents and individuals awaiting naturalization are not eligible<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be enrolled in a degree program at 51ÁÔÆæ (or an accredited institution) at the time of application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must meet the language requirements, if applicable, of the program to which they apply<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"fulbright-study-research-award\">Fulbright Study\/Research Award<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/us.fulbrightonline.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fulbright U.S. Student Program<\/a> focuses on expanding cross-cultural dialogue and perspectives through education and professional development. More than 140 countries are part of the program, offering opportunities to students of any major or degree. Students can apply to pursue graduate study, research, or teach English abroad. Truman Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.truman.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Truman Scholarship<\/a> is a memorial to the thirty-third president that awards merit-based scholarships to students pursuing graduate school for public service careers. This includes career goals in education, government, law, public health, policy, social work, research, and more. This scholarship application is open to third-year undergraduate students, but it is best to start preparing in your sophomore year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\"><button class=\"uwm-p-accordion--toggle-button size-p-md\">Expand All<\/button>\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Benefits<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$30,000 toward a public service-related graduate degree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participation in Truman Scholars Leadership Week<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eight-week summer institute in Washington, D.C.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Truman-Albright and Other Fellows Program: opportunity to stay in D.C. for a year in a public service job<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Basic Eligibility<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Full-time third-year undergraduate student, any major<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upper quarter of your class<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>U.S. citizen or national<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be nominated by the campus Truman Scholarship Faculty Representative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"james-madison-fellowship\">James Madison Fellowship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamesmadison.gov\/fellowship-information\/fellowship-eligibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">James Madison Fellowships<\/a> were created by Congress to honor Madison by providing support for a master&#8217;s of education, master&#8217;s of arts in history of political sciences, and master&#8217;s of arts in teaching. Students must be pursuing a career in teaching a subject which includes topics of the constitution. Up to fifty scholars directly engage with Britain through academic programs that contribute to intellectual and personal growth by building connections and becoming advocates for UK-US relations. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\"><button class=\"uwm-p-accordion--toggle-button size-p-md\">Expand All<\/button>\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Benefits<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Study in the UK for up to two years with coverage of university fees and cost of living expenses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Annual book grant and thesis grant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research and travel grants<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fares to and from the United States<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When applicable, a contribution towards the support of a dependent spouse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Basic Eligibility<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>U.S. citizen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold a first undergraduate degree from a 4-year college by September 2027<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have not studied for or hold a degree from a British University, GCSE, or A Levels taken at a UK school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nsf-grfp\">National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsfgrfp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NSF GRFP<\/a> is for outstanding students currently pursuing or planning to pursue full-time, research-based master&#8217;s and doctoral degrees<a>.<\/a> The fellowship program was created in 1952 to help ensure the quality and strength of science and engineering fields. The program provides funding for up to three years of support for graduate-level research. Udall and John S. McCain III Native American Graduate Fellowship in Tribal Policy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Morris K. Udall and John S. McCain III <a href=\"https:\/\/udall.gov\/OurPrograms\/Fellowship\/Fellowship.aspx\">Native American Graduate Fellowship in Tribal Policy<\/a> recognizes outstanding Native American and Alaska Native graduate students who are currently pursuing graduate degrees in health care fields\u2014including, but not limited to, health administration, health education, public health, medical practice, policy, research, or related-degrees\u2014and who have demonstrated a commitment to Native health care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\"><button class=\"uwm-p-accordion--toggle-button size-p-md\">Expand All<\/button>\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Benefits<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$25,000 for graduate school related costs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Basic Eligibility<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be an enrolled member of one or more federally recognized Indian tribes that are included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2024\/12\/11\/2024-29005\/indian-entities-recognized-by-and-eligible-to-receive-services-from-the-united-states-bureau-of\">annual list of Indian Tribes<\/a> published by the Secretary of the Interior<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>U.S. citizens, nationals, and lawful permanent residents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Current graduate students that have completed one semester of graduate-level coursework in a health care field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be enrolled at least half-time in a grad program<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pursuing degree in a health care field<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"phi-kappa-phi-fellowship\">Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Honor Society of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phikappaphi.org\/grants-awards\/fellowship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Phi Kappa Phi fellowship program<\/a> was established in 1932 to provide funding to first-year graduate students across all disciplines. Students must be members of Phi Kappa Phi to apply for the fellowship. This includes graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, and travel related to teaching\/researching\/learning. The scholarship is merit-based and promotes leadership development and international understanding through a community of scholars. The fellowship was founded by Paul and Daisy Soros, Hungarian immigrants and American philanthropists, dedicated to increasing immigrants\u2019 access to higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fellowship provides graduate school funding for immigrants or the children of immigrants.
