Instructor:<\/strong>
Sarah Kelly Hansen <\/strong>is a Milwaukee based artist and an avid adventurer of Wisconsin forests. She holds a BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD) and has completed the Milan Mastery Program. MIAD is also where she teaches a variety of courses as an Adjunct Instructor.<\/p>\n

After being a successful ceramic artist, Sarah pursued contemporary visual arts. Her artwork explores blissful moments that encourage self-acceptance, authenticity and feeling that we are enough. Hansen’s use of canvas, mixed media and oil paints create layers of depth in the work. Through her work, we can step into a dream world where anything is possible. She has exhibited her most recent work at the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) and has sold to private collections all over the globe. See her work at: www.sarahkellyhansen.com<\/a><\/p>\n

The Course:
<\/strong>Do you really know what lives in the forest? In this workshop you will FROLIC through the enchanting Beech Maple Forest and the Cedarburg Bog Boardwalk, FETCH inspiration from your surroundings, and SKETCH what you see. You will learn methods of analyzing spring wildflowers and other plants, fungi, critters, etc. and study and utilize a variety of drawing techniques to compose an artistic depiction of nature as seen through your own eyes and guided by a professional artist.<\/p>\n

Useful materials to bring<\/strong>:
Field clothing, including sturdy hiking boots and rain gear and a water bottle.\u00a0 Boots for wet and muddy areas are strongly suggested.\u00a0 Tick repellent could be helpful. Field guides on wildflowers of Wisconsin, mushrooms, and mosses.<\/p>\n

Optional Drawing Materials:\u00a0<\/strong>
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Botanical Colors, Sakura Gelly Roll Opaque White Pen – Medium Tip, Faber-Castell Goldfaber Studio Oil Pastel Set – Assorted Colors<\/p>\n

Lodging Accommodations & Food:
<\/strong>The workshop fee does not include overnight accommodations. However, tent camping space on the property is available at no charge. Participants wishing to stay overnight in our Farmhouse may reserve a bed in a shared space at a cost of $20 per night. Bed space is limited so be sure to reserve early. Alternatively, the Saukville Field Station can also provide you with a list of nearby places to stay. An optional catered lunch is provided at cost for an additional charge and will include vegetarian and gluten free options. Meal plan should be ordered at the time your registration is submitted. Workshop fee<\/strong>: $90. Available for 1.4 CEU. Not offered for college credit. Fee includes a Strathmore sketch book and Sakura Pigma Micron Pens.\u00a0<\/p>\n
