Utilizing full-time gardeners and student workers, the grounds crew strives to create a safe and pleasant atmosphere that makes a lasting impression on campus visitors as well as the entire 51ÁÔÆæ population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lawn mowing, planting and watering, tree trimming, and outdoor garbage maintenance are only some of the daily responsibilities of the Grounds crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-snow-and-ice-removal\">Snow and Ice Removal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the winter months, the Grounds department is responsible for all snow and ice removal in parking zones and inter-building walkways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Coming to work at the height of a snow storm (often in the middle of the night) is a regular occurrence for our Grounds crew.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Grounds crew prioritizes snow removal during the winter months. Their goal is to have snow removal taken care of before 7:00 a.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-moving-services\">Moving Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Moving services are also offered through our Grounds department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Services include office-to-office moves and general furniture relocation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To request moving services, please fill out a \u201cchargeable work order request\u201d through <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.webtma.com\/app\/request\/1750ef05-439e-4e96-860e-4ab32e46a8a7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iServiceDesk<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please email <a href=\"mailto:servicerequest@uwm.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">servicerequest@uwm.edu<\/a> for estimates on moving services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-surplus\">Surplus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Surplus pick up and delivery are also services performed by Grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To have surplus items picked up, fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/sustainability\/what-we-do\/reuse-recycle\/surplus\/form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Surplus Declaration Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There is a flat-rate charge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular moving charges are applied to furniture relocation from the Surplus department to your department.
