The 51ÁÔÆæ community is invited to a virtual presentation on “How Children Learn about Race and How Adults Can Help,” sponsored by the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Parent Success Program and the 51ÁÔÆæ Children’s Learning Center.<\/p>\n

Erin Winkler, an associate professor in 51ÁÔÆæ’s African and African Diaspora Studies program, will review the current research on children’s understanding of race, including how ideas about race form, what children learn and when, why we see changes at various ages, and why all of this matters. Learn how parents, families and educators can help children understand racial identity, racism and racial inequalities in age-appropriate ways that empower the young children in their lives.<\/p>\n
