Trip Dates: May 3, 8 a.m. departure — May 4, 1 p.m. return to campus

There’s something adventurous about biking to a state park! Join Outdoor Pursuits as we bike from campus, along the Oak Leaf trail system, all the way to Harrington Beach State Park on Lake Michigan’s shoreline. This bike ride is 38 miles (61 km) and requires you to know how to ride a bike. The best part of this ride is that you don’t have to carry your camping equipment. We’ll drive it to the state park for you so it’s there when you arrive. All transportation, bikes, camping equipment, meals, tent lodging and instruction is provided.

Friday: Bike from 51ÁÔÆæ to Harrington Beach, eat dinner and camp
Saturday: Explore the state park, drive back to 51ÁÔÆæ

Join Outdoor Pursuits for an immersive exploration of Horicon Marsh, one of the largest freshwater marshes in the United States and a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. This trip will focus on the sights and sounds of the marsh as we search for its lively amphibian and avian residents. All transportation, binoculars and park fees are included. Join us as we embark on the flowing Milwaukee River (high from snowmelt) from Lincoln Park south toward North Avenue. We’ll be using sit-on-top kayaks and wetsuits for the paddle. Previous paddling experience is required. Registration closes two days before the trip.

Explore the surrounding neighborhoods near 51ÁÔÆæ in this introduction to longboarding course! We will teach you everything you need to know to be safer and have fun with this new sport. All experience levels are welcome. All equipment is provided (longboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads). We will start with an instructional portion at Outdoor Pursuits and then travel to the surrounding neighborhood to try out your new skills. Want to learn more about longboarding? Outdoor Pursuits has brand-new sea kayaks equipped to manage paddling on Lake Michigan! Join us as we launch from 51ÁÔÆæ’s School of Freshwater Sciences’ public boat landing on the Kinnickinnic River and paddle out onto Lake Michigan. We’ll have epic views of the city’s skyline and lighthouse. No previous paddling experience is required. All transportation, equipment and instruction will be provided.

Trip Dates: April 18, 3 p.m. departure — April 19, 7 p.m. return to campus

Looking for something out of your comfort zone? An adventure for the ages? Join Outdoor Pursuits as we team up with Wildman Resort, one of Wisconsin’s professional whitewater rafting outfitters on the Peshtigo River. Our adventure will include one night of camping followed by a day full of whitewater rapids.

We will be tent camping on-site for one night. Meals, transportation and rafting/camping equipment are provided.

There is an option to place a $75 deposit at checkout – the remainder of the balance must be paid in person before registration closes. Join Outdoor Pursuits for a night of rock climbing at Adventure Rock, Walker’s Point! We will provide transportation to the gym and climbing shoes. You are also welcome to wear any closed-toe shoes. Adventure Rock Walker’s Point offers bouldering only. Follow to watch a fun video on what bouldering is all about. Registration closes one day before the trip.
