The center awarded nearly $450,000 to five 51ÁÔÆæ research projects, one of which includes researchers from both 51ÁÔÆæ and Marquette University. A sixth project was funded at Marquette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WEP is a university-industry research collaboration, developing industry solutions through research at both 51ÁÔÆæ and Marquette. Backed by the National Science Foundation, WEP focuses on creating new sensors and devices, novel materials, and innovative systems to help the world manage its stressed water resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five all or partial 51ÁÔÆæ projects are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Xiaoli Ma <\/strong>with<strong> Yin Wang<\/strong>, Florian Bender, and Fabien Josse (Marquette), $50,000<br>\u201cDevelopment of Adsorptive Membrane Filters for the Co-Removal of Hardness and Contaminants.&#8221; (new)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Xiaoli Ma<\/strong> with<strong> Yin Wang<\/strong>,<strong> <\/strong>and Shangping Xu (51ÁÔÆæ geosciences), $49,999<br>\u201cDevelopment of Adsorptive Membrane Filters for the Co-Removal of Hardness and Contaminants.&#8221; (new)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>William Musinski<\/strong>, $100,000<br>\u201cAccurate Modeling of Long-Term Corrosion and Cracking in Brass Alloys.\u201d (continuing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Junjie Niu<\/strong>, $99,998<br>\u201cDesigning an electrochemical sensor for PFAS detection in water.&#8221; (continuing)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nathan Salowitz<\/strong>, $75,000<br>\u201cEmbedded Ultrasonic Inspection and Sensing of Water-Filled Equipment.&#8221; (continuing)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Faculty in the college have received new funding from the&nbsp;Water Equipment and Policy Center (WEP)&nbsp;for 2026.
