With 68 judges, including 18 faculty members, the activity was fast and furious!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year the event featured a \u201ccompetition with the competition\u201d: Six of the doctoral students who entered research posters were also finalists in the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/hasan-bested-20-other-doctoral-students-to-win-the-three-minute-thesis-event\/\">Three-Minute Thesis<\/a>,\u201d where they described their research as an \u201celevator pitch\u201d to appeal to a general audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A huge thank you goes to sponsors of the event \u2013 Eaton, Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, Generac, the We Energies Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-slider uwm-p-slider--dots-outside\"><div class=\"uwm-p-slider--base\"><figure class=\"uwm-c-img--caption-gray\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/537\/2025\/04\/Posters.ballroom.shot_.jpg\" alt=\"group of people looking at posters\" title=\"group of people looking at posters\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption>Nearly 100 students and 68 judges filled the Wisconsin Room for the event. <\/figcaption><\/figure><figure class=\"uwm-c-img--caption-gray\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/engineering\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/537\/2025\/04\/Vincent-1.jpg\" alt=\"a woman explains a poster to a man\" title=\"a woman explains a poster to a man\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" \/><figcaption>First-place winner in the research Undergraduate Category Hannah Vincent describes her work to Qingsu Cheng, assistant professor, biomedical engineering. In addition, 20 students entered a poster from an outside-the-classroom learning experience, describing senior design projects, co-ops, or work with student organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Graduate<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First Place:<strong> Cheikh Kada<\/strong>, mechanical engineering.
