Six Fortune 500 companies are headquartered in the Milwaukee metro area, joining more than 600 other companies that recruit at 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-general\"><strong>General<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>51ÁÔÆæ is ranked in the top 3.1% of universities worldwide <em>(Center for World University Rankings)<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Milwaukee is a best destination in the world to travel to (National Geographic), to live in (U.S. News and World Report), and to visit (Trip Advisor). Milwaukee has also been hailed as having one of the 15 best skylines in the world (Architectural Digest).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-research\"><strong>Research<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>51ÁÔÆæ and the College of Engineering &amp; Applied Science are known for cross-college collaboration and interdisciplinary research. 51ÁÔÆæ is one of Wisconsin\u2019s two R1 Research Universities, named by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
