The Electa Quinney Institute (EQI) is excited to share that our growing library\u2014located in Holton Hall, Room G79\u2014is open and available to everyone: students, staff, faculty, and community members. This space is meant to support learning, research, and connection by providing access to a rich and unique collection of Indigenous-centered materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Collection Rooted in Community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The EQI Library brings together books from multiple sources, including contributions from former EQI Director Margaret Noodin in spring 2023, materials previously housed in the American Indian Student Center, and books once located in the American Indian Student Lounge. Today, these works come together in one welcoming space curated with intention. Illuminated by a warm lamp donated by Professor Emerita Sheila Feay-Shaw, the room and its digital database were thoughtfully organized by student employee Slater Gutierrez. Through careful handwritten cataloging, Slater helped shape a collection that now includes more than 1,000 books spanning non-fiction, auto-fiction, primary sources, research surveys, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
