This graduate-level program provides a strong foundation in literacy instruction, combining coursework and hands-on practicum experience to equip you with the skills to support student success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>18-credit certification program<\/strong> can be completed in as little as <strong>three semesters<\/strong> with a flexible, fully online format (some courses also available in person). The online Reading Teacher Certification can be a part of this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"tab-4wnw-curriculum\" class=\"uwm-p-tabcontent--pane\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-online-reading-teacher-certification-program-license-1316-0\">Online Reading Teacher Certification Program (License #1316)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This graduate-level certification program requires applicants to meet several criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited college or university.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A successful criminal background check evaluation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eligibility for, or possession of, a Tier 2, 3, or 4 Wisconsin teaching license, or completion of an approved teacher education program for initial licensure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates successfully completing the program receive endorsement for licensure to teach reading in the State of Wisconsin at the K-12 level in a regular education setting. Individuals will be licensed to teach Reading at these grade levels. If admitted by the Graduate School, they can also expect to hear back from the department with their advisor assignment shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications&nbsp;<strong>completed less than four weeks before the start of the semester<\/strong> that the applicant intends to enroll will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may not be processed in time for enrollment for the intended semester.
