We value our own continuous professional development to enhance the quality of the advising experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-prepare-for-an-advising-meeting\">How To Prepare for an Advising Meeting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review your <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/registrar\/faculty-staff-resources\/paws-academic-advisement\/\">Advisement Report in PAWS<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Come prepared with questions or topics for discussion.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make a list of courses you think you should take.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigate opportunities to experience the job you want.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep a record of your academic progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand you are ultimately responsible for creating your educational, life, and career plans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain honest and open communication with your advisor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take responsibility for choices you make as a student and member of the University community.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are pursuing a master\u2019s or doctoral degree, you will be assigned a faculty advisor at the time of admission.
