Other important dates and deadlines can be found by using the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/onestop\/dates-and-deadlines\/\" target=\"_blank\">One Stop calendars<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Admission<\/h3> <p>An applicant must meet\u00a0Graduate School requirements\u00a0plus these departmental requirements to be considered for admission to the program:<\/p> <ol> \t<li>An undergraduate major in economics and one semester of calculus. Alternatively, adequate preparation at the undergraduate level equivalent to two semesters of coursework in intermediate economic theory, one semester of statistics, and one semester of calculus.<\/li> \t<li>Submission of scores on the\u00a0Graduate Record Examination\u00a0General Test or equivalent quantitative courses is recommended. Test of English as a Foreign Language exam is required for applicants whose native language is not English.<\/li> \t<li>Two letters of recommendation from persons familiar with applicant\u2019s scholastic achievement and potential.<\/li> <\/ol> <p>Applicants may be admitted with specific program-defined course deficiencies provided that the deficiencies amount to no more than two courses.<\/p> <p>The student is expected to satisfy deficiency requirements within three enrolled semesters. The deficiencies are monitored by the Graduate School and the individual graduate program unit. Deficiencies are to be made up through the following:<\/p> <ul> \t<li>in economic theory through\u00a0ECON\u00a0301\u00a0and\u00a0ECON\u00a0302;<\/li>  \t<li>in statistics through\u00a0ECON\u00a0210; and<\/li>  \t<li>in calculus through\u00a0MATH\u00a0211.<\/li>  <\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Application to all graduate programs are completed through the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/graduateschool\/admission\/\">51ÁÔÆæ Graduate School<\/a>.
