Research Conference in Dallas
For the second year in a row 51ÁÔÆæ undergraduates participated in a sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. On the first weekend in April, Stanley Porubcan, at the extreme left, presented his paper “Economic Conditions and Civil unrest” (co-authored by 51ÁÔÆæ student Chris Berg). Others attending the conference (and serving as discussants) were Tim Brand, Evan Andrew, Grace Kisch and Mallory Nordin.
It again proved a fantastic opportunity to meet with economics students from around the country and get a serious introduction to economics research and conferences. A substantial share of the cost to participate came from friends and alumni who contributed to the Department of Economics General Fund. We are all grateful to those contributors. Additional contributions will help future students participate.
