Third Annual Panther Econ Connect

For the third year the Department held an end-of-year gathering bringing together current and graduating students, faculty, alumni and friends.  Ann Pencak led the proceedings and Kristen Carioti (PhD 2011) served as guest speaker describing her journey from 51ÁÔÆæ economics student to the Dean of the School of Arts & Sciences at Mount Mary University here in Milwaukee.  She provided career advice and impressed on everyone the importance of practicing and teaching financial literacy.

The event was well attended and it was great to see old friends and meet new ones.  Watch for us next year!

Professor and Student Visit Slovak University of Technology

Professor Rebecca Neumann and PhD student Ethan Ballou spent part of April in Bratislava Slovakia.  Under an Erasmus grant they participated in the life of the Slovak University of Technology.

They each taught a class to students there: Ethan taught on game theory in an Investment Evaluation Methods class and Professor Neumann taught about financial regulations, tariffs and trade to a large Business Management class.  They also conducted research with colleagues there.
