Marlo Vasquez wins the 2025 Holahan Prize for Outstanding Teaching by a Graduate Student. A dissertation student working with Professor Lazkano, Marlo has excelled in teaching both principles and economic development classes. This is the fourteenth annual awarding of the Prize which serves to recognize the forty years of excellent teaching and leadership provided by Professor William Holahan.

Youssuf Abdelatif wins the J. Walter Elliott Prize for 2025. This prize memorializes Prof. Elliott and was first awarded in 1992. It rewards an outstanding performance on the Macroeconomics preliminary exam. As Chair Kundan Kishor said, “we don’t give this award every year only when we have truly excellent exam. Congratulations to Youssuf!
