Department helps bring Economics to High School Students

Continuing to work with the Office of Dual Enrollment, the Department hosted students from two local high schools late in the fall term. Evan Schmidt from Shorewood High School brought 28 students from his Econ 100 class.  Joseph Torrisi (BA 2019) from Grafton High School brought 16 students taking AP Economics.  Professors Kundan Kishor, Vivian Lei and Rebecca Neumann discussed career opportunities in economics and provided an overview of economics at 51ÁÔÆæ.

Then current 51ÁÔÆæ Econ students answered questions and interacted with the high school students in smaller groups.  The 51ÁÔÆæ students were Steven English, Mia Crowell, Raveeha Arif, Erin Huerta, Charlotte Sackerson, and Zainab Musa.

The high school students next sat in on a microeconomics principles class and finished up the day with lunch in the union.
