ART 253 – Introduction to Photography.ÌýThis course covers the fundamental aesthetics & digital photography using manual cameras; focus on camera operation, image exposure, to produce black & white compositions. ART 350 – Visualizing Ideas in Photography.ÌýThis course which covers more digital aspects of the photographic medium. This hybrid (online and face to face) class informs students with the use of Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, Display Calibration and Color Management for screen-based imaging and printed output, Printing Surfaces, and Paper Types, Conceptual Development, and Artist Statement Composition.ÌýAs a fully digital offering, this course can easily go online.ÌýStudents interested in ART 350 should have access to a Manual Digital Camera, capable of capturing RAW format files, along with full-time access to Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Version (at a minimum), and a laptop computer. ART 454 – Narrative Photography. This course provides the opportunity to explore the narrative possibilities of the medium. Investigating Documentary Photography, Tableau style images, with an emphasis on editing and sequencing photographs. This course looks into the reciprocal influences of still photography and cinema, along with shared tactics of visual capture.ÌýProjects are open to include short films, performances, and installation, in addition to still imagery.ÌýStudents interested in ART 454 should have access to a variety of image capture devices (both digital and analog) and image editing software.ÌýThis course can easily go online.ÌýFor more information about ART 454 – contact Grant Gill (gillgm@uwm.edu)Ìýwith any questions.ÌýPrerequisite: ART 350, ART 357, or ART 358
