The DOS Team may reach out to you to seek your assistance in supporting a student or to gather information about one of your students.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-col--4 uwm-l-offset--1\"><div class=\"uwm-block-otp-nav \"><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"uwm-bg-gray uwm-u-py-80\"><div class=\"uwm-l-container--base uwm-l-container--overflow-hidden\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading heading-separator\" id=\"workshops-training\">Workshops and Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dean Students Office offers trainings and workshops throughout the year on a variety of topics, and can make arrangements for specific topics.  Here are a few examples of trainings\/presentations offered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/deanofstudents\/faculty-staff-resources\/support-u-workshops\/\">Support U: Fostering a Culture of Support at 51ÁÔÆæ<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/safetytraining\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Classroom &amp; Campus Safety<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trauma Informed Care Workshop<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training on Classroom Disruptions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training on Medical Withdrawals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supportive Classroom Environments, for instructors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?UnivofWisconsinMilwaukee&amp;layout_id=3\" rel=\"\">Request a Training or Presentation<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"uwm-u-py-80\"><div class=\"uwm-l-container--base uwm-l-container--overflow-hidden\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading heading-separator\" id=\"intervention-teams\">Intervention Teams<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>51ÁÔÆæ has two intervention teams to address concerning behaviors. They are the Behavior Intervention Team and the Student Support Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/deanofstudents\/behavior-intervention-team\/\">Behavior Intervention Team<\/a><\/strong> acts in a proactive manner to identify, assess, manage, reduce, and educate the campus community as to the risk of potentially harmful or threatening behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?UnivofWisconsinMilwaukee\" rel=\"\">Contact the Behavior Intervention Team<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/deanofstudents\/student-support-team\/\">Student Support Team<\/a><\/strong> helps identify students who appear to be in distress and provides supportive intervention and guidance. Contact the SST to seek help for students who experience personal or family challenges that impact the student\u2019s ability to be successful (e.g., mental health concerns, medical circumstances, severe hardship, loss of a loved one, other situational factors) or that significantly impacts the campus community (e.g. erratic behavior, loss of a campus community member).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/cm.maxient.com\/reportingform.php?UnivofWisconsinMilwaukee&amp;layout_id=5\" rel=\"\">Contact the Student Support Team<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"uwm-bg-gray uwm-u-py-80\"><div class=\"uwm-l-container--base uwm-l-container--overflow-hidden\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading heading-separator\" id=\"consultation\">Consultation or Student Support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Contact the Dean of Students Office to consult about complex student matters.
