The Distinguished Lecture Series welcomes Raoul Peck, award winning film director and writer, for a thought provoking and insightful discussion of his latest film, I Am Not Your Negro. \u00a0Peck will discuss the film, James Baldwin, and connect the Civil Rights Movement to the issues of segregation, education, and mass incarceration that Milwaukee and so many other places around the world face today.<\/p>\n

Peck has created multiple eye-opening and award-winning narratives and documentaries that have screened globally, including Lumumba<\/i>,\u00a0Sometimes in April<\/i>, Man by the Shore<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Fatal Assistance. <\/i>His latest work\u00a0The Young Karl Marx <\/i>looks at another key political and\u00a0historical\u00a0figure. The totality of Peck\u2019s work demonstrates his deep sense of responsibility towards elevating the conversation about critical current and historic social issues.<\/p>\n
