We value the Humanities because it is those disciplines that teach us to think and ask us to consider the world around us. Is our society fair? Do our actions promote justice? How does power and the perception of race impact how we speak, act, and think – especially after the death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and the ensuing #BlackLivesMatter movement?<\/p>\n
