{"id":3077,"date":"2024-10-17T15:34:22","date_gmt":"2024-10-17T20:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/csi\/?post_type=research_post_type&#038;p=3077"},"modified":"2025-01-15T12:11:32","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T18:11:32","slug":"digital-twin-with-ptc-for-csi-testbed","status":"publish","type":"research_post_type","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/csi\/research\/research-projects\/digital-twin-with-ptc-for-csi-testbed\/","title":{"rendered":"Digital Twin with PTC for CSI Testbed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-target-objective\">Target Objective<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Research on Digital-twin technology to enable pathway towards implementation of industry 4.0 standards as enterprise solution and bridges the gap of industry need and academic research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Development of digital twin of an actuator (and possibly a 2DOF Robot) with the use of PTC ThingWorx and Vuforia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prediction of the motor&#8217;s current and future maximum temperature, preventive maintenance time, or the remaining life-time in real-time, based on the motor current.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-project-detail\">Project Detail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creation of a small testbed for digital twin implementation using ANSYS Twin Builder and deploy the Twin to PTC ThingWorx IIOT platform for performance analysis and predict the aging of a robotic manipulator.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Milestone-1: Experimental Setup Design (3 months)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Milestone-2: Physics-based high-fidelity model for the actuator (or a 2DOF robot) integrated with virtual sensors for calculating the motor winding&#8217;s temperature. The model will be able to generate simulated sensor data. Develop and validate a reduced-order model (ROM) and digital twin of the developed robot. (4 months)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Milestone-3: Deploy the twin to the PTC ThingWorx Platform to send\/receive data from the Ansys Simulation Platform. (2 months)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Milestone-4: Evaluate the developed digital twin with a wide variety of loading to the actuator\/robot against real world data.
