DESCRIPTION:Engage your curiosity. Join your classmates at the inaugural Community Building Workshop and Time Exchange. You’ll explore\, engage\, connect and build strong community here at 51����. \n\n\n\n—– \nRegister for event. \n\n\n\nCommunity Building Workshop and Time Exchange \n\n\n\nThe location of this event will be announced soon. Apply by Friday\, August 16. \n\n\n\nTuesday\, August 27    5:30 PM – 8:00 PMWednesday\, August 28  8:30 AM – 4:30 PMThursday\, August 29   8:30 AM – 4:30 PMFriday\, September 6   Noon to 1:30 PM (Time Exchange) \n\n\n\n\nOpen to all students from HBSSW\, SOE and SOIS\n\n\n\nFree of charge\n\n\n\nCan potentially result in 2 academic credits\n\n\n\nMeals provided during each gathering\n\n\n\n\n—– \n\n\n\nCommunity Building Workshops experientially introduce participants to processes that promote effective interpersonal communication and strong social connections. Students who have completed the workshop in the past have said that it is one of the most powerful experiences they have had at UW-Milwaukee\, allowing them to authentically encounter themselves and others. \n\n\n\nTime Exchange is a unique form of mutual aid in which members of a community share resources with one another in a way that strengthens community ties and individual well-being. Combining Community Building and Time Exchange enables participants to exchange their talents and time within the context of an evolving and caring community. \n\n\n\nQuestions? SUMMARY:Research Synergies: Faculty Writing Group/Set Aside Time – Fall 2024 (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:The CCEP Research Synergies Working Group invites colleagues to participate in the Fall 2024 Faculty Writing Group/Set Aside Time. The purpose of these optional events is to have dedicated writing time to work on manuscripts\, grant applications\, etc. Research Subgroup members will open the sessions. In opening these events\, the facilitators may briefly ask those in attendance what they plan to work on during the time\, plus do an optional check-in at the end. \nVirtual Sessions will occur on Thursday 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm\nSeptember 26 | October 31st | November 21 | December 19 \nHybrid \ In-Person Sessions will occur on Friday 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm \nSeptember 27 –  “I’m interested in a grant. How do I get started?” \nNovember 1 – “I need someone to read my specific aims\, a section of my manuscript\, etc.?” Come meet with a colleague editor. \nCANCELLED: Due to scheduling conflict\, this session has been cancelled. We hope to re-schedule this session for a future date.\nNovember 22 – “I’m stuck on (fill in the blank) getting funded\, getting a book proposal accepted\, going from Associate to Full Professor\, etc.” Come meet confidentially with a supportive colleague to bounce around ideas and get unstuck. \nDecember 20 – No theme for this session. \nWe hope you can join us this Fall!\nFor more information\, please email: Lisa Berger\, PhD ( lberger@uwm.edu )
