We enthusiastically welcome them to the 51ÁÔÆæ Alumni Association!\ud83d\udc9b\ud83d\udda4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:21px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-gideon-fakomogbon-from-nigeria-ms-in-information-technology-management\">Gideon Fakomogbon from Nigeria; MS in Information Technology Management<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMy experiences with technology in education have spurred my desire to explore its immense impact on the larger society. Since starting my MBA-MS in Information Technology Management program, I have had the opportunity to critically explore various tools and techniques to improve IT access and business management in my local community while still remaining cybersecurity vigilant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the long term, I look forward to creating a tech hub in Ilorin, Kwara, Nigeria (where I was born and raised). Africa has the largest youth population, meaning so much talent and potential needs to be harnessed. I am most proud of completing my master\u2019s degree in Health Care Informatics while actively working on data-driven healthcare projects and gaining practical experience in healthcare operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>51ÁÔÆæ is more than a university\u2014it\u2019s a community that truly supports international students in their academic and personal journeys. First, I served on the advisory committee and participated in the mentor\u2013mentee program at the Center for International Education, where I supported international students\u2014both undergraduate and graduate\u2014in transitioning smoothly from their home countries to their second home at 51ÁÔÆæ and in Milwaukee. Second, I served as the president of the Taiwanese Student Association and as the liaison to CYCU through 51ÁÔÆæ CEAS Academic Affairs. I also arrived with the belief that 51ÁÔÆæ would prepare me well for pursuing a career in medicine and help me build a strong foundation in the medical field. Today, I feel far more confident and prepared to move forward on that path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While on campus I established the Pakistani Student Association to further foster contribution, support, and a sense of belonging at 51ÁÔÆæ.
