Work on a team-teaching basis, provide daily communication to parents and assist in the maintenance of the classroom to ensure a healthy, safe environment.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-c-button--icon-right uwm-c-button--icon-arrow uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/children\/about\/employment\/assistant-caregiver-application\/\" rel=\"\">Apply <\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-duties-amp-responsibilities\">Duties &amp; Responsibilities:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-work-with-children\"><strong>Work with Children<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Provide physical care to children. This includes napping, feeding, bathrooming, lifting children, getting down to child level and sitting on the floor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare bottles, snacks and lunches for children as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Record bathrooming, snack, nap and other daily activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Move around with children at their pace and be actively involved with them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in individual, small group, and large group activities with children (e.g., art, flannel board stories, reading, singing, water play, cooking).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respect each child as an individual and be sensitive to individual needs and routines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-health-and-safety\">Health and Safety<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep children in sight and sound at all times. Conduct regular name checks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Know proper response in an emergency (e.g., accident, fire drill).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help maintain environment to keep children safe and healthy (e.g., clean, pick-up\/move items, report safety concerns)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be aware of children\u2019s health and physical condition when they arrive and throughout the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share information about children\u2019s health and\/or injuries with other staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Administer simple first aid (e.g., ice on bump, wash cut) and complete Accident\/Illness Report w\/supervision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-work-with-other-caregivers\">Work with Other Caregivers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Communicate effectively with coworkers in a team-teaching environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approach problems with coworkers in a positive, solution-oriented manner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Share responsibility for children and the environment in all areas of the Center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help out in other classrooms when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-work-with-families\">Work with Families<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Greet families (children and adults), learn their names, and get to know them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relay important information gained from families to other staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refer questions, or concerns to the Lead Educator or in-charge person when appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Provide quality care and supervision to children in a classroom setting.
