We use a holistic approach by evaluating multiple measures for applicability to capital projects as they are relevant to varying project needs and missions.\u00a0 The Wisconsin Division of Facilities Development &amp; Management (DFDM) <a href=\"https:\/\/doa.wi.gov\/DFDM_Documents\/MasterSpecs\/Sustainability\/DFD%20Sustainability%20Guidelines%20for%20Capital%20Projects%20-%20V5.docx\">Sustainability Guidelines<\/a> are based on the American Institute of Architect\u2019s (AIA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aia.org\/resources\/6077668-framework-for-design-excellence\">Framework for Design Excellence<\/a> and adapted for use on DFDM projects to align with the Governor&#8217;s Executive Order #38 to \u201cDevelop energy efficiency, sustainability and renewable energy guidelines for all new and existing state facilities, office buildings, and complexes.\u201d\u00a0 The guidelines were initiated in 2004 and established in 2006.\u00a0 The current Sustainability Guidelines were adopted in 2020, adding resilient and inclusive measures to the sustainability guidelines.\u00a0 Prior DFDM sustainability guidelines aligned with LEED Silver.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sustainable, Resilient, and Inclusive Design includes<\/strong> &#8211;<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Integration<\/strong>: good design delivers beauty and function in balance.
