{"id":14713,"date":"2026-02-05T16:43:30","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T22:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=14713"},"modified":"2026-02-08T20:18:56","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T02:18:56","slug":"info-c21collab27","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/event\/info-c21collab27\/","title":{"rendered":"Information Session: C21 Collaboratory Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>C21\u00a0Leadership Team\u00a0will host an <strong>information session<\/strong>\u00a0about the FY27 collaborative project application in person,\u00a0at C21, with a virtual\u00a0option\u00a0on\u00a0<strong>Tuesday,\u00a0March 3, 9-10\u00a0AM.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In-person: 939 Curtin Hall&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Virtual:&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/registercollabinfo27\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/registercollabinfo27<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>C21 believes that the complex challenges we face in the 21<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;century are best met through collaborations across areas of expertise and experience, and that&nbsp;the humanities&nbsp;are a vital part of addressing these challenges.&nbsp;Collaborative project&nbsp;funding&nbsp;provides&nbsp;an opportunity to bring together teams of scholars across disciplines, across university and community partnerships, and across emerging and established scholars (students \/ staff \/ faculty) to&nbsp;generate&nbsp;new ideas&nbsp;and knowledge.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C21 offers funding for two distinct categories of collaborative projects: working&nbsp;groups and&nbsp;collaboratories.&nbsp;Working groups provide opportunities for collaborative study, research, and discussion of a common subject of interest.&nbsp;Collaboratories&nbsp;provide&nbsp;opportunities to bring new,&nbsp;humanities-informed&nbsp;ideas and knowledge&nbsp;to&nbsp;many different audiences&nbsp;both on and off campus.&nbsp;Collaboratories&nbsp;are also&nbsp;foundational to the Center\u2019s annual programming.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the criteria for working groups will remain&nbsp;largely unchanged&nbsp;from previous years,&nbsp;collaboratory&nbsp;proposals must include a contribution to<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>C21&#8217;s Day of Action<\/strong>, slated for the Spring 2027 semester.
