\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The Historical Novel\u2019s Uncertain Truth:\u00a0<\/span><\/b>On Writing about Francisca Pizarro, the First Mestiza in South America\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n November 9, 2022 at 2:30 p.m, <\/b>4th Floor Conference Center, 51ÁÔÆæ Golda Meir Library, 2311 E. Hartford Ave.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/span>A native of Lima, Peru, Alonso Cueto <\/b>is a major figure in contemporary Latin American literature. He is the author of novels, short fiction, plays, and essays. His novels include The Blue Hour <\/i>(2005 Herralde Prize for Novel), El Susurro de la Mujer Ballena <\/i>(2007), and La Perricholi <\/i>(2018). Cueto\u2019s works have been translated into twenty languages and several have been made into films. He has received a Guggenheim Writer\u2019s Grant, the Berlin Anna Seghers Prize, and the Medal for Service to Culture from the Government of Peru.
