As one of the first humanities research centers in the United States, C21 has been at the forefront of major developments in interdisciplinary humanities for <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/about\/history-of-the-center\/\">over half a century<\/a>. Through collaboration and individual reflection, C21 fosters <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/research\/process\/\">innovative research<\/a> at the intersection of the humanities, arts, and sciences, supporting emerging and established scholars, <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/publications\/current-publications\/\">publishing<\/a> new research, and hosting lectures, workshops, and other <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/events\/\">events<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C21 provides multiple points of access and honors diverse ways of knowing through <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/research\/fellowships\/\">fellowships<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/research\/collaboratories\/\">project support<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/events\/slow\/slow-knowing\/\">programming<\/a>. In recent years, the Center has expanded its focus to include public humanities, bridging the university and the community through events and <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/events\/story-cart\/\">oral research projects<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"default\">For the next three years, C21 will explore the theme of <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/c21\/events\/slow\/\">SLOW<\/a>, infusing this concept into its programming, fellowships, and collaboratories.
