their freshmen year and start the program sophomore year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-business-scholars-amp-the-honors-college\">Business Scholars &amp; the Honors College<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Honors College courses typically fulfill your general education requirements and Business Scholars courses satisfy your major requirements, you can do both!&nbsp; As a sophomore, admission into the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/honors\/\">Honors College<\/a>&nbsp;will be looked upon favorably when evaluating your admission into the Business Scholars program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"tab-iudt-advantages\" class=\"uwm-p-tabcontent--pane\">\n<p>There are many outstanding advantage to being part of a Business Scholars cohort, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list undefined\">\n<li><strong>Small course sections<\/strong>&nbsp;(about 35 students) and a&nbsp;<strong>cohort model<\/strong>&nbsp;means more interaction with some of the Lubar College\u2019s top faculty, and allowing you to connect with fellow students,&nbsp;<strong>building professional networks<\/strong>&nbsp;that will last long after graduation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Academic rigor<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>hands-on learning<\/strong>&nbsp;will keep you challenged while building key skill sets that&nbsp;<strong>employers value<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Individualized attention<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>program support<\/strong>&nbsp;from faculty who enjoy your intellectual curiosity, as well as a&nbsp;<strong>dedicated Program Director and Academic Advisor<\/strong>&nbsp;who can guide you through the program, talk to you about your academic goals, and help you make the most of your college experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Business Scholars Seminar<\/strong>&nbsp;designed to mirror graduate-level courses in their level of research and application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Being \u201cin demand\u201d by employers, who seek out Business Scholars students for&nbsp;<strong>internships and job placements<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research Thesis<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Experiential Learning<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Study Abroad<\/strong>&nbsp;opportunities are designed to mirror graduate-level seminars in their level of research and applications, and you will be able to complete one of these as part of the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Invitations to special events<\/strong>&nbsp;including the&nbsp;<strong>Bradley Lecture<\/strong>&nbsp;series,&nbsp;<strong>Business Ethics<\/strong>&nbsp;Luncheon,&nbsp;<strong>Defining Markets<\/strong>&nbsp;webinars and other Lubar events that often&nbsp;involve networking with local business leaders. It is designed to mirror graduate-level seminars in its level of research and application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, as part of the Business Scholars curriculum, students have the option of completing a <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business\/academics\/business-scholars\/scholars-experiential-learning-project\/\">Lubar Study Abroad, Scholars thesis, or research in industry<\/a>. That means you will have the opportunity to develop a project or thesis in your area of interest.
