Areas of Expertise

Dr. Marcus’ research is in corporate finance and economics. His recent research includes sustainable and internal growth rates of firms in the presence of economics of scale, municipal bond finance, and international transfer pricing. Dr. Marcus teaches Principles of Finance, Business Economics, and EMBA Corporate Economics.

He publishes applied financial work in theÌýTSA InvestorÌýand occasional economic forecasts inÌýBizTimes Milwaukee.

Recent public presentations include: "Taking the Economy's Temperature," and "Short Cycles: The Economy Swings in Short Cycles within Longer Cycles and How We Can Use These Patterns to Forecast for Four to Five Quarters Ahead."

Dr. Marcus’ service includes being the Chair of the Lubar Executive Committee, 51ÁÔÆæ Faculty Senate parliamentarian, and member and past chair of the 51ÁÔÆæ Honorary Degrees Committee. He currently serves as the faculty advisor to the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Investment Club, which manages a real money portfolio of stocks.
