This is an exciting time as you begin preparing for what you will do after college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following should be completed by the end of your senior year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-academic-advising\">Academic Advising<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet with an Academic Advisor to ensure you will complete all graduation requirements. Lubar Hall N297, 414-229-5271\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Schedule a meeting during your first semester of your senior year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review your Academic Advisement Report via PAWS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register early to obtain classes you need to meet graduation requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit your graduation application in PAWS.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply for Fall\/UWinterM graduation no later than the first Friday after the start of fall classes in PAWS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply for Spring\/Summer graduation no later than the fourth Friday of January or the Friday after the start of spring classes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step by step instructions on how to submit your graduation application can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/registrar\/graduation\/applying-for-graduation\/\">Registrar&#8217;s Office Applying for Graduation page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend a senior &#8220;graduation &#8211; check&#8221; advising session.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor your PAWS account weekly and email daily through Office 365.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Examine your PAWS account. Your graduation status will remain &#8220;under review&#8221; until all final grades are posted unless there is a problem with your record.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>View your Priority Enrollment Appointment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generate and review your Academic Requirements in PAWS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check email for commencement information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-career-advising\">Career Advising<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet with a Career Advisor to discuss goals and develop a plan for after graduation. Lubar Hall N203, 414-229-5445\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Schedule a meeting in the summer prior to your senior year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refine your resume, cover letters, and references.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit Career Fairs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Begin your job search in the Fall for full-time employment.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check the Handshake account in the Fall for employers interviewing May and August graduates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reactivate your Handshake account and update information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue to use your career resources.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take BUS ADM 300\u2014Career and Professional Development if you haven&#8217;t already done so.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue to build contacts in LinkedIn.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Watch for email alerts for employment opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take on a leadership role in a Business Student Organization.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you obtain a full-time position, report the position to Lubar Career Services at <a href=\"mailto:careerserv@uwm.edu\">careerserv@uwm.edu<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-personal-development\">Personal Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop plans to embark on your journey after graduation.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you choose graduate school, you will want to start your application about a year before you want to start the program.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Review application deadlines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take relevant standardized tests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write your personal statement\/application essay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gather recommendation letters if needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research potential employers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take advantage of employer-sponsored activities or office open houses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review corporate websites for employment opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply for posted positions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interview with as many companies as possible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtain a full-time position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-col--4 uwm-l-offset--1\"><div class=\"uwm-block-otp-nav \"><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"content_block\" id=\"custom_post_widget-152\"><nav aria-label=\"Sidebar\" class=\"uwm-p-navigation-list uwm-p-navigation-list--gold-border \"><div class=\"uwm-p-navigation-list--title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business-undergrad-advising\/program-resources\/lubar-educational-guide-to-excellence\/\">Lubar Educational Guide to Excellence (EDGE)<\/a><\/div><ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business-undergrad-advising\/program-resources\/lubar-educational-guide-to-excellence\/explore\/\">Explore &#8211;
