Get busy and be engaged. Remember, you will get out of your college experience what you put into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"size-p-lg\">The following should be completed by the end of the sophomore year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-academic-advising\">Academic Advising<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet with your Academic Advisor in October and March. Lubar Hall N297, 414-229-5271\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the meeting, we will discuss:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What&#8217;s your target GPA goal this semester?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are your support systems?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are your habits and routines helping or hurting your academic progress?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are there areas in your life where you should consider making some changes?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What do you need to do in order to be successful right now and in the future?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selecting the appropriate courses and requirements, prerequisites, and sequencing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Planning your semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend a sophomore group advising session<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business\/academic-programs\/\">Research and choose major(s)<\/a>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Consider adding a second major, certificate or minor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend the annual &#8220;Exploring Majors Fair&#8221; held in the Union, during the fall semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review Advancement to Major requirements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>English\/Math proficiencies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Business Foundation Courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attain junior standing (56 credits).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet the GPA requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor your PAWS account weekly and email daily through Office 365.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Generate and review your Academic Requirements in PAWS, located in the dropdown menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure your finances are in order:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check into <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cost-aid\/\">Financial Aid<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay tuition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take advantage of scholarships:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/business\/students\/scholarships\/\">Lubar College Scholarships<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/finances\/scholarships\/\">51ÁÔÆæ Scholarships<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use this website for Student Service resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigate <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/study-abroad\/\">Study Abroad opportunities<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are interested in studying abroad during your junior or senior year, you should start the planning process now!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to the Study Abroad Fair in the Union in the fall semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend information sessions on Lubar&#8217;s two-week study abroad programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact your advisor or the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\">Center for International Education<\/a> office.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Garland Hall 138, 414-229-4846<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-career-advising\">Career Advising<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Meet with your Career Advisor to develop plans for your first internship.
