Welcome to the New Student Orientation page for incoming business students! We recommend you read through the information below prior to attending your advising session during your New Student Orientation to help you get prepared for course enrollment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English & Math Placement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All Business majors are required to submit ACT\/SAT scores or complete placements through 51ÁÔÆæ prior to<\/strong> attending New Student Orientation to determine your Math and English placement levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have not yet completed your placements please visit: Fall \u2013 New Freshman | Student Orientation (uwm.edu)<\/a> to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you placed into developmental level Math (Math 94 or 98)<\/em> or you are not satisfied with your Math placement level, we highly recommend you to complete Panther Math Prep (PMP)<\/a><\/strong> as soon as possible. Students are allowed to re-test up to 5 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For English, students are allowed to take the Guided English Placement (GEP)<\/a> once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced Placement (AP) & International Baccalaureate (IB) Score Acceptance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Check to see how 51ÁÔÆæ will accept Advanced Placement (AP) <\/strong>or International Baccalaureate (IB)<\/strong> scores. If you completed AP or IB courses, be sure to have those transferred to 51ÁÔÆæ as soon as possible. If we have not received your scores prior to attending orientation, make sure to let an Advisor know during your New Student Orientation course enrollment session!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

General Education Requirements (GERs)<\/strong> are the foundation of a college experience and is meant to provide the essential critical thinking, communication skills, and understanding of diverse human environments that define a college-education citizen!
