{"id":990,"date":"2025-02-05T12:33:29","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T18:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/boss\/?page_id=990"},"modified":"2026-03-31T08:06:38","modified_gmt":"2026-03-31T13:06:38","slug":"android-app-user-guide","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/boss\/android-app-user-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"Android App User Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<ol class=\"uwm-c-list--sequence\">\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Find the TransLoc App in the App Store<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.transloc.microtransit&amp;hl=en_US&amp;gl=US\">TransLoc Android app in the Google Play Store<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International Students may need to set up a US Google Play account to download the app. <a href=\"https:\/\/panthers.sharepoint.com\/:w:\/s\/TS\/EdkBpHTLa9hEs3jCMa5nKZUBcxrKuc2Y3jpzSeRAFDidmA?e=izUdXg\">Learn how to create a US app store account<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you download it, you will be asked whether you want to allow TransLoc to use your location. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is recommended you choose &#8220;Grant Permission&#8221; or &#8220;Allow Only While Using the App&#8221;. Do not choose &#8220;Deny&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Log in With the 51ÁÔÆæ Single Sign On<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the Settings tab at the bottom, and then click Log in.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your 51ÁÔÆæ.EDU email address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure to sign in with the 51ÁÔÆæ Single Sign on, which is used for Canvas, Outlook, OneDrive, and most other 51ÁÔÆæ sites.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Navigate the Welcome Screen<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After logging into your 51ÁÔÆæ account, you will see the welcome screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should toggle &#8220;University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee&#8221; to show Be On the Safe Side (B.O.S.S.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If this screen doesn&#8217;t appear, you may need to choose &#8220;Agency Preferences&#8221; in the Settings tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Navigate the OnDemand Tab<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are now able to request rides when B.O.S.S. is in session!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the OnDemand tab, you may see many services offered by B.O.S.S.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They have slightly different hours as they have different service areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sure you choose an active service (you may have to toggle through services), then click on it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Set the Drop Off Location and Passenger Details<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To set the pick-up and drop-off locations, select each box. You can either enter an address or select a point on the map.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the number of riders and whether you need an ADA service.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be sure to read any applicable service announcements, as they contain important service information that may change over time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The app provides an estimated time of arrival, but this is dependent on rider demand, weather, traffic, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Review the Information<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure to review all the details of your trip.
