About the Organization<\/h4>\n

Children’s Wisconsin<\/a> is the region’s only independent healthcare system dedicated solely to the health and well-being of children.\u00a0 In Milwaukee and throughout the state, they provide kids and their families a wide range of care and support – everything from routine care for ear aches or sore throats to life saving advances and treatment options.<\/p>\n

How Many Students Do They Accept?<\/h4>\n

Children’s Wisconsin typically accepts 2-3 students for clinical rotations each year from the UW Milwaukee MLS program.<\/p>\n

About the Site<\/h4>\n

Students that intend to complete rotations with Children’s Wisconsin are typically offered a tour at the hospital lab, which is located in Milwaukee, WI, and complete interviews with the education coordinator.\u00a0 If accepted, students complete their entire rotation at this hospital.<\/p>\n

Additional Information to Consider<\/h4>\n

Though students rotating at Children’s Wisconsin will primarily work with pediatric patients, they will receive the same basic training in all required areas.\u00a0 Due to the patient population, students have the ability to see more unique tests, as well as a variety of diseases\/disorders found in pediatric patients.\u00a0 Students are not<\/strong> expected to perform phlebotomy on infants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
