Research is central to the department\u2019s mission and is closely integrated with teaching at every level. Faculty members pursue innovative research programs that span laboratory, field, and computational approaches, and students are encouraged to participate directly in the discovery process. Through hands-on research experiences, close faculty mentorship, and access to modern facilities, students gain the skills and perspective needed to address complex biological questions and to contribute meaningfully to advances in science and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB)<\/a><\/div>
Cell and Molecular Biology encompasses study of the structure and function of organisms and biological processes at the level of cells, and the macromolecules that define them\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior (EEB)<\/a><\/div>
The EEB Research Group strives to understand the natural world through the lens of broad conceptual theory supported by empirical evidence.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Microbiology<\/a><\/div>
Understanding microorganisms allows us to better understand our planet, control pandemics and improve the lives of people.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Facilities<\/a><\/div>
