The program features Professor Elena Abend as soloist in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor\, a rare and powerful work filled with drama and intensity. The evening culminates in Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9\, “From the New World\,” one of the most beloved and thrilling works in the orchestral repertoire. \n51’s Symphony Orchestra is comprised of graduate and undergraduate music majors\, as well as other students. The ensemble presents seven to eight concerts each year and regularly collaborates with 51 Choirs and Opera Theatre. \nThe orchestra has performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall\, the Chicago Symphony Center\, and the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts.
