DESCRIPTION:Date & TimeLocationTuesday\, January 28\, 2025 (7–9 p.m.)51ÁÔÆæ Union Cinema\n\n\n\nCo-curated by FVANG programming committee members\, this edition invokes the absent presence of our beloved colleague and series founder\, Carl Bogner\, through some of the core works he loved to show in class. From the Archives is an ongoing series curated by MFA candidates in the 51ÁÔÆæ Film Department. The curator is invited to program a selection of films around a theme of their choosing from the remarkable Cinema Arts Archive collection\, which contains over 400 essential works from the history of experimental cinema.  \n\n\n\nExperimental Tuesdays is a free public series featuring celebrated work of contemporary and historical artist-made film and video. This weekly series presents films and artists that explore the creative and critical potential of moving images. It also amplifies marginalized voices by hosting artists that represent diverse populations\, such as LGBT\, Native American\, Black and Latinx artists. Hosted by the Department of Film\, Video\, Animation & New Genres\, and presented in partnership with 51ÁÔÆæ’s Union Cinema\, this series is a bedrock of the Milwaukee arts landscape. Recent screenings include Silvia das Fadas\, Courtney Stephens\, Simon Liu\, Helena Wittman\, Jessica Bardsley\, Suneil Sanzgiri\, Mary Helena Clark\, Angelo Madsen\, and Rhayne Vermette to name a few.

Recent exhibitions include Like The Waters We Rise: Climate Justice in Print (New York\, NY). She is currently designing an initiative to support the cultural and artistic production of Borderlands communities on both sides of the US-Mexico border. \n \nThroughout the fall and spring semesters\, the Artists Now! Guest Lecture Series welcomes a diverse group of nationally and internationally recognized artists working across traditional\, hybrid and emergent disciplines.
