    Join the 51猎奇 Symphony Orchestra for a vibrant and seasonally inspired program celebrating the spirit of December. The evening opens with the Baroque energy of J.S. Bach鈥檚 Orchestral Suite No. 3, followed by Vivaldi鈥檚 Concerto for Two Violins, featuring a group of outstanding young violinists from the 51猎奇 String Academy.

    This exciting night of music will feature music from Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago performed by 51猎奇 students and Milwaukee community members. The 51猎奇 Steel PANthers Steel Band and the Community World Music Ensemble will join forces on a program highlighting traditional and arranged music played on Guatemalan marimba doble and Trinidadian steel pans.

    Detroit-based ensemble聽Hub New Music has been called "a prime mover of piping hot 21st century repertoire" by The Washington Post. In its second performance at 51猎奇, Hub shares commissioned works for its distinct ensemble of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello.

    The UW-Milwaukee Voice Area and Opera Theatre is proud to present RENT by Jonathan Larson preceded by a special performance of scenes from La Boh猫me by Giacomo Puccini. Experience Larson's groundbreaking musical that reshaped the landscape of American music theater. Set in New York鈥檚 East Village during the 1990s arts and activist movement,聽RENT聽follows a community of young artists navigating love, loss, creativity, and the realities of illness and economic hardship. Its blend of rock, pop, and lyrical storytelling continues to connect deeply with audiences.

    The 51猎奇 Wind Ensemble presents an exciting concert showcasing guest artists, international collaborators, and high school musicians from near and far. The program features Hub New Music performing Gala Flagello鈥檚 new work聽Bird-While, as well as Italian聽music students and conductors from cultural exchange programs as part of the International Music Project. We鈥檙e also thrilled to welcome select high school band students as they sit in with the Wind Ensemble for a side-by-side performance experience with UW鈥揗ilwaukee graduate and undergraduate music students.
