This program by the UW-Milwaukee Wind Ensemble will feature Professors Kevin Hartman (Trumpet) and Bernard Zinck (Violin) as featured performers on James M. Stephenson鈥檚 鈥淭he Storyteller,鈥� an homage to long-time Chicago Symphony Orchestra Principal Trumpet Adolph 鈥淏ud鈥� Herseth (1921-2013). The concert will also include a pair of compositions with celestial inspirations: Roshanne Etezady鈥檚 鈥淧arhelion鈥� and Frank Ticheli鈥檚 鈥淪ymphony No. 2: Apollo Unleashed.鈥� We are pleased to welcome nominated high school students in Milwaukee who will perform side-by-side at this concert.
The 51猎奇 Wind Ensemble is the premier concert band in the Peck School of the Arts and has been recognized nationally and internationally through numerous invitations to perform at major music conferences.鈥疎mphasizing the single performer concept, the Wind Ensemble uses only players needed for a given piece, thus providing the greatest exposure for the exceptional musician.聽
