Students are expected to do the same work in these graduate courses as graduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-application-deadlines\">Application Deadlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>July 15 for fall semester<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>December 1 for spring semester<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>April 1 for summer sessions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-process\">Process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Please send an independent study application, cover letter, preliminary proposal and preliminary bibliography to the department associate Ariana Huggett (<a href=\"mailto:huggett@uwm.edu\"><a href=\"mailto:huggett@uwm.edu\">huggett@uwm.edu<\/a><\/a>) who will forward your materials to the appropriate faculty member. It is <strong>required<\/strong> that you visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/careerplan\/\">Center for Student Experience &amp; Talent<\/a> to work on your cover letter and resume.<strong> Your application will not be accepted without a receipt. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cover-letter\">Cover Letter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One page, double-spaced addressed directly to the faculty member teaching the colloquium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is the rationale for participating in this graduate colloquium?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How does this research fit into your broader research\/degree goals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the professor approves your application, cover letter, and resume, you will be able to sign up for the graduate colloquium (ArtHist 700+) via PAWS.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-requirements\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are expected to complete the same work in these graduate courses as graduate students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Undergraduate students are allowed to take graduate colloquia to satisfy the L&amp;S research requirement or a distribution requirement for the major.
