A study abroad experience is a life-changing experience! <\/p>\r\n\r\n

Often, studying abroad is the first time a student is far from family and friends and must \r\nnavigate a new place, new culture, new foods, and a second language\u2014all while balancing coursework or other \r\neducational expectations. It\u2019s exciting and maybe a little scary (in a good way)! <\/p>\r\n\r\n

Planning for an experience abroad should begin about three semesters ahead of time. \r\nStudents should work with their advisor to begin to plan their schedule and should work with a study abroad \r\nadvisor in 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Center for International Education (CIE) to scout destinations, understand travel requirements \r\nand application deadlines, and explore financial aid options for study abroad.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Deadlines for study abroad programs are typically October 1 for spring and \r\nsummer programs and March 1 for fall starting programs.<\/strong> Please visit the \r\nCIE Study Abroad website<\/a> for detailed information and a database of \r\navailable destinations to browse.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
