This applied learning not only enhances their academic journey but also contributes meaningfully to clients, collaborators and preservation stakeholders across sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Institute connects graduate students and researchers with real-world projects led by public and private partners focused on adaptive reuse and conservation. These collaborations generate thorough documentation of historic buildings, including their architectural history, existing conditions and future reuse potential. Each project provides practical training in preservation technology and methods and aligns with the academic goals of the Preservation Studies Concentration of the <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/architecture\/academics\/architecture-march\/\">Master of Architecture (MArch I)<\/a> or as a selection of classes in the faculty-guided <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/architecture\/academics\/architecture-ms\/\">Master of Science in Architecture<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-technology-at-work\">Technology at Work<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students at HPI gain experience with the following tools and techniques:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>LiDAR scanning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Photogrammetry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Drone documentation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3D Modeling (Revit \/ BIM)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Digital and physical replication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VR\/AR integration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"uwm-u-py-80\"><div class=\"uwm-l-container--base uwm-l-container--overflow-hidden\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading size-h2 heading-separator\" id=\"h-studios-and-fieldwork\"><strong>Studios and Fieldwork<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Preservation studios at SARUP are dynamic and responsive to real-world preservation challenges across local, national and international contexts. While each studio differs in subject and output, all are designed to ensure students graduate with advanced, marketable skills centered around documenting, restoring and designing within historic contexts.
