The museum hosts about one million visitors a year and the Museum\u2019s Education Department presents programs that serve over 325,000 people every year. The Museum employs curators that conduct research locally, nationally, and internationally in their field of expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From its modest beginnings in 1882, the Milwaukee Public Museum currently houses over four million specimens. This includes these collections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Anthropology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Botany<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>History<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invertebrate Zoology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vertebrate Zoology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the museum has a research library that contains over 125,000 volumes.
