Effective Fall 2022, the African and African Diaspora Studies MA has suspended admission.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applicants must meet Graduate School Requirements<\/u> <\/a>plus the following departmental requirements to be considered for admission to the MA program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Undergraduate or graduate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. A personal statement of purpose\/interest<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. A writing sample<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Three letters of recommendation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Please note that the GRE is encouraged, but not required to be considered for admission to the MA program.<\/strong><\/em> If students have not completed the GRE before the application deadline but have scheduled their test date, they may submit their application to the Graduate School with their scheduled GRE test date and send their scores to the department upon completion after the admissions deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Students must also apply directly to 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Graduate School<\/u><\/a>, and forward the requisite application fee in order to have their materials considered. Prospective applicants should visit the Graduate Schools website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Completed applications must be received by Jan. 31 to be considered for fall admissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
