SUMMARY:Active Teaching Lab – Reimagining Assessments
DESCRIPTION:Reimagining Assessments:\n\n\n\nHow AI can Improve Low-Stakes Assessment and Boost Student Learning\n\n\n\nOn October 2nd Mark Sullivan will share how – after some hesitation – he began to experiment with AI to help him quickly build reading comprehension questions. Mark found that by partnering with AI\, the quality of his questions improved\, the time he took to build these questions decreased\, and he was able to do more low stakes assessments in his course\, which together improved his student learning outcomes. Join us as we experiment with a variety of AI tools to create\, edit\, and improve low-stakes course activities! \n\n\n\nThis session will be held both in-person and online via Zoom. SUMMARY:Conflict Transformation Circles | Division of Community Empowerment & Institutional Inclusivity (CEII)
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\nConflict Transformation Circles provide space for 51ÁÔÆæ faculty and staff to reflect\, explore and dialogue about ways you experience and respond to conflict. Participants will grow in self-awareness of your own conflict tendencies and will build skills and confidence to positively address conflict. \n\n\n\nDuring October 2024\, the Division of Community Empowerment & Institutional Inclusivity (formerly Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion) will offer the following three-session conflict transformation circle series: \n\n\n\n\nWednesdays\, 12:30–2pm (Oct. 2\, 16\, 30) — focused on instructional contexts\n\n\n\nThursdays\, 10:30am–12pm (Oct. 3\, 17\, 31) — focused on office/team contexts\n\n\n\n\nEach circle series will address these three topics:\n\n\n\n\nConflict styles — Oct. 2/3\n\n\n\nResponsive strategies — Oct. 16/17\n\n\n\nProactive strategies — Oct. 30/31\n\n\n\n\nCircles will be held in-person in Engelmann Hall (ENG) B73 and are facilitated by Dr. Sarah MacDonald\, Training and Dispute Resolution Specialist.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFacilitators\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nEngelmann Hall (ENG)\, B732033 E Hartford Ave\, Milwaukee\, WI 53211
